Home Causes, Prevention and Treatment of Acne

You can find countless home remedies to use on acne. Some of them are as simple as applying lemon juice or witch hazel as an astringent while other more advanced treatments such as Acnezine, Derma Cleanse, Noxema, Proactive, or other product is used.

Causes

Poor diet and poor hygiene are some of the main causes of acne problems. More about this is explained in the “prevention” section of this article.

Prevention of acne is also caused by a variety of life circumstances. Teenagers often get it as a result of the stress of maturing physically. Adults (as well as teens) often get it as a result of gaining too much weight and allowing sweat to accumulate on the body.

Women get it as a result of becoming pregnant, or because they are menstruating. They might also get it during menopause.

Men of course get it for some of the similar reasons that women do. One major factor is that they get it as a result of being overweight, and it is a result of poor hygiene in men but also for women.

Prevention

One way to prevent acne from recurring or even from appearing in the first place is to stop eating so many sugary and salty foods. Therefore, the potatoes chips, French fries, salted tortilla chips, and chocolates have to go.

Fried chicken and battered fish that is fried in a pan and greasy meat pizzas are also a no-no. These are hard foods for teenagers to avoid as they are always on the lunch menu.

It is not that you can never eat the foods above, but the consumption of them for most people should be cut down by way over half the amount. Eating plenty of fresh fruits, nuts, and salads is an alternative.

Drinking more water and juice instead of soda and coffee would also help. If you are an adult try to stay away from drinking too much beer as this could cause acne.

Treatment Tips

The best way to treat acne is to find products that are mild enough to clean your skin. Yet, the products should be abrasive enough to remove dirt, oil, and bacteria from your pores.

Several different types of cleansers and creams are used for this purpose. Some of the recommended treatments nowadays include these: Acnezine, Derma Cleanse, Noxema, Proactive, and Biore Pore are among the many that people use nowadays.
